Helen and Gary Sherlock - Mia

Mia started her martial arts journey just over 2 years ago, starting in Punchin Pandas and has never looked back. The help and support of the instructors has been amazing right from day one and she would not have progressed as much as she has without their knowledge and guidance. She loves being part of the Ashby and Coalville Martial Arts family.

Georges Mum -Liz

My son joined Punchin Pandas at 4 years old and recently moved into the Junior Dragons team.

When my son joined, he was shy, quiet and very easily distracted. Three years on, my son is confident, respectful, determined and a team player. I feel that Pandas definitely helped him cultivate those skills.

Their teachings and ethos are grounded in respect, building self-confidence, team work and self-discipline. They do a brilliant job of blending fun, fitness and the skills of martial arts together.

Callum

Ashby & Coalville Martial Arts has changed my life.  My fitness and determination to succeed has gone from strength to strength, and that’s thanks to the wonderful instructor team who inspire and motivate me to achieve my goals.

Callums Mum

Callum joined Ashby & Coalville Martial Arts at the age of 8 as he needed some direction on life.  At the age of 14 I couldn’t be prouder of his achievements and his future ambitions.  He wouldn’t be where he is today without the dedication and support of the instructors.

“I love learning new katas and sparring. Mr Root, Mr Moore and Finn make it so much fun. They are great role models.” Aadav Krishna, Age 9 Junior Dragon.

“Aadav first started as a 4-year-old Panda and is now training as a junior Dragon. He enjoys going to class because of a varied mix of fun and challenges set by the instructors. Kudos to the high commitment of the instructors that Aadav enjoys his martial arts and is motivated to do his best.”

Otis Bird and Parents

I'm happy and a bit nervous all at the same time, Callum teaches me new kicks. I like Gary helping me to punch and control. Andy helps me with my sequence ( chon ji). Finn has helped me do side kicks. I get nervous when I see the dragons but when I watch them I go crazy, mad, they're sooo good.  Otis Bird age 4.
All instructors are calm, knowledgeable and amazing with the students. It truly is one big happy family. The dragons are also amazing with the younger one's, learning Leadership skills, but it also shows all these little one's what they to can achieve if they try hard and put the effort in.  This is a one in a million class/ Dojo/ Group, I'm so glad we chose here to send Otis. His confidence has grown and he has completely surpassed and achieved things above and beyond what we expected. Thank you so much, can't even begin to express how much we appreciate every single one of you.

Claire and Mike Bird -son Lewis

Our Martial Arts journey, so far….
My son starting at Punchin Pandas Coalville in the summer, on recommendation.
We attend lots of different ‘out of school’ clubs. Punchin Pandas Coalville is the best, by far. Even before he started classes here we were made to feel very welcome within the club. We were informed of all the details, what to expect and lessons with great communication from Mr Root. Any queries are promptly answered.
Mr Root delivered Lewis’ kit to our home to make sure he felt confident for his next lesson. Our son has gone from strength to strength at this club. The care, time and values instilled to all the children is fantastic and invaluable.
We’d taken the option of the additional Sunday outdoors sessions (which were available in the better weather). This session targeted all ages, and helped to develop our sons concentration and skill set, with the support and guidance from Mr Root, Mr Moore, Finn & Callum. There is also weekly communication from the club and we as a family really feel like part of a martial arts family. If you’re thinking of exploring this for your own child, please give it a try. Honestly, we’ve not looked back. We are looking forward to watching the positive developments our son will undoubtedly achieve.

Geoff Middle -Alex and Emily

I'd like to thank you for giving my daughter the confidence to stick up for herself. She's a kind and sometimes quiet girl and I'd worried that she'd be bullied when she went up to secondary school. The change in her over a couple of years was evident for all to see.   She had very few problems with the transition from primary to secondary school, once it was known she would give as good as she got.  It has done her confidence the world of good. Now you are training Alex, pictured...who has never lacked confidence.  He enjoys the fun classes, and gets plenty of exercise. I believe that the lessons and discipline he learns with you will help him in the years to come.

James Garner - Travis and Carmen

We have been with East Midlands Martial Arts for about 10 years with no signs of stopping. The instructors have a very calming, friendly and encouraging approach to teaching. They have repeatedly shown a real commitment to students, particularly when they are grading, or in competition, under other instructors. With black belts in sight I have every confidence they will be 100% supported on their journey.

Blake Smyth and mom, Ellie

“It’s really good, I really like your classes. I like the running and the way it makes you feel a bit more fitter, and it makes me feel very happy. I really like playing with the foam swords. I liked that time when it was two against each other and I got to be the judge.“ Blake, aged 6.
My 6 year old son absolutely loves martial arts thanks to Gary and the team. They do a fun and engaging range of activities and skills each session, and I can tell he feels empowered and excited at the end. Gary and all of the trainers are so kind, patient and attentive, making sure that all the children are enjoying themselves but also progressing with their skills. I feel so lucky to have found such an amazing martial arts group. I’m hoping to start the adult sessions to at some point.  Blake’s mom-Ellie

Tazmeen - Isa's mom, Junior Dragons

Isa has been attending his classes for about a year now and absolutely loves it and looks forward to it. The instructors make the classes fun and work hard to build resilience, confidence and leadership skills in addition to the martial arts skills the children develop. I've seen Isa really grow in confidence in this class this last year and I think it's because of Gary, Mr Moore and Finn. All of them, without a doubt, care for and nurture the children, making sure they understand the children they teach and support accordingly. The class is of mixed ability and age; knowledge is often shared with, and support freely given to, the younger students by the older students. It's a great class.  I travel from Leicester to Coalville and its definitely worth the trip.
